What is Bulldog Jeet-Kune-Do?
The course which we call “Bulldog Jeet-Kune-Do” or "Bulldog Self-Defense Concepts", is something radically different in the field of self-defense instruction. It is designed to be simple to learn, structurally sound, and above all, powerful and effective in actual combat. Based on only one fundamental posture and a carefully selected set of movements, the student can pick and choose those that are best suited to his or her own abilities.
This course is the result of an on-going search for the simplest, most effective, and most versatile ways to defend oneself in the street. We have undertaken the additional task of choosing techniques that are easy to remember and apply, for the individual who has decided that he or she does not wish to be extensively involved in the study and practice of martial arts. We have found the techniques included here to be particularly practical for women, senior citizens, overweight persons, and those with absolutely no background in self-defense. We have focused on using the human body’s natural weapons to their greatest advantage by devising solid structures with which to launch them. While compiling this text, we decided on techniques which [when practiced slowly like a Tai-Chi form] are beneficial for the practitioner’s health as well. But make no mistake: every movement included here has direct, versatile, and effective fighting applications.
